Nintendo is finally bringing GameCube games to the Switch 2 via Nintendo Switch Online’s Expansion Pack. Starting June 5, titles like The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Soulcalibur II, and F-Zero GX will be available at launch. Future additions include Super Mario Sunshine, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Pokémon XD: Gale of Darkness, Super Mario Strikers, Chibi-Robo!, Luigi’s Mansion, and Pokémon Colosseum.
To enhance the nostalgic experience, Nintendo is releasing a wireless GameCube controller compatible with the Switch 2, featuring a C button for GameChat. Initially, this controller will be exclusively available to those who pre-order the console through the My Nintendo Store.
These GameCube titles will be accessible to Nintendo Switch Online members with the Expansion Pack tier. The Switch 2 is set to launch on June 5, priced at $449.99, with a bundle including Mario Kart World available for $499.99.
Nintendo has announced that additional GameCube titles will be added to the Switch 2 library later this year, including fan favorites like Metroid Prime and Pikmin 2. The company is also planning to introduce a new feature allowing players to save and share their gameplay highlights directly from these classic games.
It’s exciting to see classic GameCube games making their way to the Switch 2, offering both nostalgia and new experiences for players. The addition of a wireless GameCube controller is a great touch to enhance gameplay.
